ALL THINGS RECORD STORE DAY

NEXT UP

WHAT: RECORD STORE DAY 2026
WHEN: SATURDAY, APRIL 18th [9AM - 6PM Central]

WHERE: 10,000 Hz RECORDS + THE GREEN ROOM
                 DOWNTOWN OPELIKA, ALABAMA

OK! RSD 2026 is nearly upon us and we've been hard at work putting a great day together for you all. We are, once again, hooking up with our pals at The Green Room to give ourselves (and you) some extra space on April 18th and the line will start there. We've ordered heavily for this event, as we tend to do, and we'll have 300ish RSD exclusive titles on-hand for you, along with another massive used drop of cleaned and graded quality used LPs, and the first 200 or so customers of the day will be getting nice little swag packs filled with new 10,000 Hz magnets and postcards and whatever else the Record Store Day folks send us. It's gonna be a good time, and we hope you all find what you're looking for. Scroll down below Ian Milby's most excellent poster for all the boring details.

  • 10,000 Hz Records [THE BRICK & MORTAR SHOP] will be open 9AM-6PM on Saturday, April 18th with our usual 10,000+ new and used vinyl titles + several thousand new & used CDs and cassettes in stock.

  • 10,000 Hz Records [THE RSD VINYL POP-UP SHOP in THE GREEN ROOM] will also open at 9AM and close around 4PM when we'll begin moving whatever RSD stock remains back into the shop to prep for our online sale on Sunday, April 19th (more on that below). RSD 2026 titles will still be available in the shop for the remainder of Saturday, but you may need to ask for them after about 4PM.

  • And if you're asking yourself what in the hell the RSD VINYL POP-UP SHOP IN THE GREEN ROOM is, you probably haven't been paying attention to all this text. Here it is again. We will set up all of the roughly 300 RSD titles we've ordered for the day in The Green Room, literally just a few feet down the street from our front door on 1st Avenue. It's the corner space with the white paint and green door next to a big roll-up garage door, which we'll have open all day long.

  • There will be a line, it will start at The Green Room, and it will be clearly marked. Hard to say how long it will be or what time you should arrive, but there are typically some folks there well before the sun comes up and the line tends to start getting long-ish roughly an hour or two before we open. The earlier you're there, the better chance you've got at getting the things you want.

  • The first 15 or so customers in line will enter the The Green Room one by one with a little time between them at 9AM central, and we'll try to keep capacity in there at about 15-20 shoppers at any given moment. We may also cap the number of customers in the brick & mortar shop if we need to...it's not a huge place and we want to make sure everyone can shop comfortably. There may be times where some folks will have to wait a few minutes to enter. Be cool about it, ok? You will be asked to check any shopping, tote, or otherwise large bags at the entrance to either space, ok?

  • PRIZES + GIVEAWAYS:
As we mentioned above, we're putting together about 200 swag packs filled with new 10,000 Hz postcards and magnets and whatever freebies we end up with from the RSD folks. Our first customers of the day will take home a free RSD tote and the annual Dogfish Head RSD poster.
  • We'll have the all-new and world famous (sure, why not?) 2026 10,000 Hz X-ray totes for sale...those will run you $15, but you'll get one for "free" if you're spending ~$300 or more.
  • PARKING: Street parking in downtown Opelika is free literally wherever you find it, and the PNC Bank lot that you can see from our front door is a good place to park if you can't find anything on the street.

  • Once again, we've ordered *heavily* for this event, and we've done our best to get substantial quantities of the titles you all requested the most in our customer survey last month. That being said, please keep in mind that these titles are all limited edition and there are apparently more than 1500 stores participating in RSD events all over the U.S. this year...that number has grown quite a bit these last couple of years, and that means there are fewer copies of some titles to go around. Seems like allocations on certain things may have been a little rougher this time than they might have been in the past. Some titles will be hard to come by and/or will sell out quickly. Not much we can do about that in many instances, but if we run out of something, it won't hurt to ask if we can get more...in some cases, we might be able to.

  • To give you a hand planning, we will post a list of all RSD 2026 titles we'll have in stock - including our starting quantities and prices - HERE by the end of the day on Wednesday, April 15th, if not before.

  • FOR OUR ONLINE CUSTOMERS, all RSD titles that remain after our in-person Saturday event will be available at 10000HzRECORDS.COM beginning at 7AM [CST, Central, Alabama time] on Sunday, April 19th. We expect many of these releases to move very quickly once they're made available on this site. If you intend to shop with us for RSD stuff online, you should plan to do it very early that Saturday morning, alright?

  • As always, and per RSD rules, we cannot hold or pre-sell any RSD releases.

  • And of course, all RSD releases are one per person. On the website, that translates to all RSD releases being one per person/household/shipping address/credit card/whatever. Multiple online orders for the same RSD titles containing the same names, shipping addresses, billing addresses, email addresses, etc will be canceled without further explanation. No funny business. We don't play.
