ALL THINGS RECORD STORE DAY
NEXT UP
WHAT: RECORD STORE DAY 2025
WHEN: SATURDAY, APRIL 12th [9AM - 6PM]
WHERE: 10,000 Hz RECORDS + THE GREEN ROOM
Hundreds of exclusive Record Store Day releases, only available at independent record shops like ours. Plus our biggest used drop of the year, all available in our pop-up shop just inside the roll-up garage door at our neighbors' lovely cocktail bar, The Green Room. And prizes, giveaways, and a mess of freebie promo posters. Oh, also, a photo booth. New merch, too. And free coffee from our pals at Coffee Mafia + free pastries from our other pals over at Stinson Breads for the early birds. And 10,000 or so new & used vinyl titles in the shop, same as it ever was. No way to TL;DR all that.

Since there's no roof on the Railyard at the moment, our pals at The Green Room are letting us set up our RSD stuff and our biggest used drop of the year in the front of their bar just a few feet down 1st Ave from our door. So that's a new development. That and we've rented one of those touch-screen photo booth things and we'd very much like you to take pics with your pals and/or records and take home a souvenir filmstrip. More on that below. Otherwise, it'll be like it's been in the past. You know what we mean - a good day.
Here's the rest of the boring details:
- _10,000 Hz Records [THE BRICK & MORTAR SHOP] will be open 9AM-6PM on Saturday, April 12th with our usual 10,000ish new and used vinyl titles in stock.
- _10,000 Hz Records [THE RSD VINYL POP-UP SHOP in THE GREEN ROOM] will also open at 9AM and close around 4PM when we'll begin moving whatever RSD stock remains back into the shop to prep for our online sale on Sunday, April 13th. RSD 2025 titles will still be available in the shop for the remainder of the day, but you may need to ask for them after about 4PM.
- _And if you're asking yourself what in the hell the RSD VINYL POP-UP SHOP IN THE GREEN ROOM is, you probably haven't been paying attention to all this text. Here it is again. We will set up all of the roughly 300 RSD 2025 titles we've ordered for the day in The Green Room, literally just a few feet down the street from our front door on 1st Avenue. It's the corner space with the white paint and green door next to a big roll-up garage door, which we'll have open all day long.
- _The first 15 or so customers in line will enter the The Green Room one by one with a little time between them at 9AM, and we'll try to keep capacity in there at about 15-20 shoppers at any given moment. We may also cap the number of customers in the brick & mortar shop if we need to...it's not a huge place and we want to make sure everyone can shop comfortably. There may be times where some folks will have to wait a few minutes to enter. Be cool about it, ok? You will be asked to check any shopping, tote, or otherwise large bags at the entrance to either space, ok?
-
RE Covid Safety: Yeah, we're aware most people aren't masking at this point. Our staff will be in most instances. This will be a busy day for us with a lot of people coming and going. We still recommend masking - especially indoors around large-ish groups - and we'll have extra masks on hand as usual for folks that want to wear them. It's not mandatory, just a suggestion.
- Once again, we've ordered *heavily* for this event, and we've done our best to get substantial quantities of the titles you all requested the most in our customer survey a couple of months back. That being said, please keep in mind that these titles are all limited edition and there are something like 1300 stores participating in Record Store Day events all over the U.S. this year. Seems like allocations on certain things were a little rougher this time around than they might have been in the past. Some titles will be hard to come by and/or will sell out quickly. Not much we can do about that in many instances, but if we run out of something, it won't hurt to ask if we can get more...in some cases, we might be able to.
-
RE: *TAYLOR SWIFT* Thankfully, allocations do not appear to have been rough on the Taylor Swift / Post Malone FORTNITE 7" and we should have 205 copies of that title. Now, that's a lot of copies. But the last time there was a Taylor Swift RSD release, we had a similar number of them, that release cost substantially more than this one, and we sold out of it by the following day. If this is a title you're looking for, we should have you covered, but also we fully expect to sell out of it. Again, getting there early is your best bet.
-
NEW MERCH: Hell yeah. We should have a new batch of tees and our 2025 X-Ray tote on-hand, as well as our new-enough coldy holdys and premium matchboxes. Maybe a surprise or two if we're lucky.
-
PRIZES + GIVEAWAYS + FAKE RECORDS: We'll have the usual grab bag of RSD-themed freebies on hand...likely a bunch of totes for the first 30 or so people to check out, and the annual Dogfish Head RSD poster, and then whatever else shows up in the box from the RSD folks. We've also culled together a ton of free promo posters from our back room. Lots of good stuff in there, and we didn't pay for them, so those are all free for you to peruse and take. There will also be some fake records stashed in the RSD crates and boxes that you can turn in for prizes like free coldy holdys, free tees, free totes, and free Colemine / Karma Chief promo LPs. Keep an eye out for those.
-
THE PHOTO BOOTH: We've rented a digital photo booth and printer, and hopefully it'll work as easily as advertised. Gonna try to set this up on the sidewalk in front of the shop, weather permitting, and we'd like for you all to take some pics with your pals and/or with the records you pick up or both...if all goes according to plan, you'll be able to print (and get texted/emailed) copies of your Official Commemorative RSD 2025 10,000 Hz Custom 2"x6" Filmstrip™. Hang it on your wall or fridge or pin it to the particle board divider in your cubicle at your soul-crushing office job and remember how much better times were when you were at the record shop. It's yours, forever. It'll also be ours, lol, and we might post some of these pics on social media, so be aware of that. There will be gift cards and/or free 10,000 Hz merch as prizes for our favorite filmstrips in the following 5 categories: (1) Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, (2) Class Clown(s), (3) That Was Weird, (4) Best Couple Skate, and (5) Most Mysterious and Interesting Loner. We'll pick those winners towards the end of the day, so make sure you enter your conatct info into the little screen thingy, ok?
-
FOR OUR ONLINE CUSTOMERS, all RSD titles that remain after our in-person Saturday event will be available at 10000HzRECORDS.COM beginning at 7AM [CST, Central, Alabama time] on Sunday, April 13th. We expect many of these releases to move very quickly once they're made available on this site. If you intend to shop with us for RSD stuff online, you should plan to do it very early that Sunday morning, alright?
- _As always, and per RSD rules, we cannot hold or pre-sell any RSD releases.
- _And of course, all RSD releases are one per person. On the website, that translates to all RSD releases being one per person/household/shipping address/credit card/whatever. Multiple online orders for the same RSD titles containing the same names, shipping addresses, billing addresses, email addresses, etc will be canceled without further explanation. No funny business. We don't play.
