And here's the rest of the boring details:
_10,000 Hz Records [THE BRICK & MORTAR SHOP] will be open 9AM-7PM on Friday, November 29th, with our usual 9,000ish new vinyl titles + 3,000ish used vinyl titles in stock.
_10,000 Hz Records [THE RSDBF VINYL POP-UP SHOP] will open at 9AM in the Railyard and close around 4PM on Black Friday, when we'll begin moving whatever RSDBF stock remains back indoors to prep for our online sale on Saturday, November 30th. All new RSDBF titles will still be available in the shop for the remainder of the day, but you may need to ask for them after about 4PM.
_If you're asking yourself what in the hell the RSDBF VINYL POP-UP SHOP is, it's this: we will set up all of the 130ish RSDBF 2024 releases that we've ordered for the day in the open air of the loading dock in the Railyard, a few yards down the block from our front door on 1st Avenue, just on the other side of Mama Mochas Coffee Roastery.
_There will likely be a line, and [UPDATE] it'll start at the large black gate between John Emerald Distilling Co. & Stinson's Bakery on North Railroad, just around the block from our front door. THIS IS A CHANGE WE'VE HAD TO MAKE LAST MINUTE DUE TO CONSTRUCTION...PLEASE TAKE NOTE. It is clearly marked. What time will the line start? Hard to say...there are usually a handful of folks there *very* early, but it tends to get a bit longer about an hour before we open. The earlier you get there, the more likely you are to get a good spot in line, the more likely you are to get the things you're looking for. Pretty simple.
_The first 20 or so customers in line will enter the Railyard one by one with a little time between them at 9AM, and we'll try to keep capacity in the Railyard at roughly 20 shoppers at any given moment. We may also choose to cap the number of customers in the brick & mortar shop at staff if gets a little too crowded. It's not a huge place and we want to make sure everyone can shop comfortably. There may be times where some folks will have to wait a few minutes to enter. Be cool about it. You will be asked to check any shopping, tote, or otherwise large bags at the entrance to either space, ok?
_As you probably read above, we're doing deeper discounts on about 1000 albums that are currently already marked down in the shop. That's an additional 20% off the orange and yellow sticker prices of everything in the sale bins in our lounge, and the clearance crates we'll have set up in the Railyard on Black Friday. All kinds of stuff for cheap: old RSD releases, obscure indie rock and classic psych records, some big 2024 pop albums that people have mixed feelings about - some of them at basically half the original list price. Discounts will be automatically applied at the register. Also, all used CDs are 50% off.
_As usual, we've ordered *heavily* for this event, and we've done our best to get substantial quantities of the titles you all requested the most in our customer survey a couple of months back. That being said, please keep in mind that these titles are all limited edition and there are something like 1500 stores participating in RSD Black Friday events all over the U.S. this year, which we're pretty sure is substantially more than ever. Some titles will be hard to come by and/or will sell out quickly, but if you don't find what you're looking for, let us know! Our distributors may still have stock remaining on certain releases and we're happy to check for you.
_One thing that is different this year is that we will not be publishing our RSDBF products before Saturday, November 30th...we've had trouble keeping people from finding ways to purchase these titles through our website in advance and, unfortunately, Shopify has been unable to find us a solution. WHAT WE WILL DO is post a list to this RSD page before close of business on Wednesday, November 27th, that will show you which titles we will have on hand, in what quantities, and our prices for those releases. No pics, but it'll have to do.
_FOR OUR ONLINE CUSTOMERS, all RSDBF titles that remain after our in-person Black Friday event will be available at 10000HzRECORDS.COM beginning at 7AM [CST, Central, Alabama time] on Saturday, November 30th. We expect many of our remaining titles to move very quickly once they're made available on this site. If you intend to shop with us for RSDBF titles online, you should plan to do it early that Saturday morning, alright?
_As always, and per RSD rules, we cannot hold or pre-sell any RSD releases and they are all first come / first served.
_And of course, all RSDBF releases are one per person. On the website, that translates to all RSDBF releases being one per person/household/shipping address/credit card/whatever. Multiple online orders for the same RSDBF titles containing the same names, shipping addresses, billing addresses, email addresses, etc will be canceled without further explanation. No funny business. We don't play.
